Rusty Nelson is a logistics veteran with more than two decades of hands-on experience building, leading, and modernizing air export departments for major freight forwarders. His career began at Expeditors in Portland, Oregon, followed by over a decade at Kamino Int’l Transport. Today, Rusty has served over 10 years..now as Vice President of Business Development at 7LFreight, where he helps freight forwarders bridge the gap between traditional freight operations & digital innovation. His focus on trust, transparency and service excellence has positioned him as a connector between people, process, and technology in the rapidly evolving logistics landscape. Beyond his professional life, Rusty has volunteered for over 18 years, nearly 15 of those with the Children’s Cancer Association, spreading “JoyRx”. Based in Portland, he enjoys life with his family, two cats and dog. Rusty is passionate about kindness, collaboration, and leaving a lasting impact—values that align directly with LAACA’s mission to advance connection, education, and leadership across the air cargo community.
